This isn't necissarily a new technique as it is a mixture of a few that you have already learned. As you know, your saber will swing the direction you are moving at the moment you swing. After that intial part of the swing, you can change direction and not effect the swing.
The whirlwind combo is an SD swing with an A force jump, then a D swing. If performed properly, your SD swing should be midair, and your D swing should hit as you hit the ground. I sometimes like to add a WD swing to the end to make it a three swing combo.
