Now I will tell you a few different ways to use a cartwheel attack (previous lesson) effectively. There are three that I use pretty frequently.
After the hit: Or, as soon as your saber makes contact with your opponent. Generally, the idea is to make contact with your initial swing, then before the swing ends, start a cartwheel. The cartwheel will delay the saber inside your opponent, making it do more damage, while also giving you a quick escape.
This is demonstrated in the video in the previous lesson with an AS swing.
(Reccomend using any of the three cartwheels that works best for you)
Before the hit: If you get familiar with how far your cartwheel moves you, and how your opponent moves, you can actually time a cartwheel attack to intercept them. If you start your swing a good cartwheel's length away from your target, initiate the cartwheel attack, and manage to hit your opponent with the delayed saber, you are sure to do alot of damage.
This is demonstrated in the video in the previous lesson with an A swing.
(Reccomended A swing with a D cartwheel)
Escape/Parry: Use to get out of sticky situations. Can also be used with the first variation. If you keep your saber pointed in the direction of your attacker, you will greatly decrease their chances of hitting you, and your chance to block should their saber hit.
