Let me preface this lesson by saying, this is one of the most important part of duals. Take your time here to understand the strengths and weaknesses you have against other sabers if you want to succeed.
-------
Fighting Single Saber (red style)
When fighting single saber red, you have to work around your opponents swings. Red style swings are slow and the person swinging will actually slow down when swinging, allowing you to catch them more easily. Your best bet is to get in and get out as fast as you can whenever you see an opening, because a good red user can go right through your defense and deal massive damage. Use your speed to your advantage and stay as close as possible without getting hit. If they jump, try to predict their land zone and hurricane them when they land.
Fighting Staff
Staff fighting will be difficult for an average dualist, as saber staffs are more stable and have more power behind the swings, making deflecting your hits easier for them. You can swing slightly faster and have a bit better range than staff does, so you have to use that to your advantage. A staff user who is saberdancing or rushing is best fought from above or with delay attacks to break their guard. (delay will be covered in later lessons.)
Fighting Duals
Fighting another dualist is a bit easier than fighting a staff, your power and damage are even. Similar tactics though, use delays and work around their guard.
