Preface-
Let me start by saying, before you attempt to learn duals, I HIGHLY reccomend at least going through the lessons in single red that are labeled "basics". Otherwise, you will have a much harder time understanding what I am trying to say here.
When people first pick up dual sabers, it never fails that they button mash. Let me explain- duals will occasionally score kills regardless of the skill of the player, unless the opponent knows what they are doing. Because of this, either duals or staff is always the saber of choice for new players. However, there is a much more effective way to go about fighting with duals.
First of all, the most important part of saber combat, regardless of what saber you use, is timing. Closely following timing is aim. Now, because duals are yellow stance, they are much faster than what you would be used to using red stance. It will take some getting used to, but you will soon be able to sting together endless combos, as opposed to the red style limit of three.
In dual saber combat, There are three types of combos that can be used either independantly or cooperatively. You will have to keep in mind both footwork And the angle of the swing that results from your footwork if you are to master duals.
The following lessons are submitted by Xucphra, I have made slight adjustments as I saw fit, but the curriculum itself is from him. Thanks Xuc for putting the time into this. -lemonLime
-----------
Dual sabers or “duals” as they’re commonly called are a special saber style in which the user utilizes two sabers, one in each hand, to combat their opponent. They allow the wielder fast swings with wide arcs for a barrage of attacks from all sides.
I recommend reading all the lessons for all types of sabers before you start playing with dual sabers. Knowing how all the saber styles work will make you a more well-rounded saber duelist, and improve your abilities overall.
I write this assuming you have at least read and have at least a basic understanding of lemonLime’s single saber, red stance curriculum. If you have not read this yet, please look for it in the curriculum forum.
