There are a few different applications to Grip in jka, but today I am going to focus on one in particular that I co-invented a very long time ago. The grip throw.
Grip, by itself, is sort of static in nature, you hold the person in front of you and choke them. But combined with momentum, you can give grip a sort of "slingshot" effect, and send your target on a ride across the map.
Here's a demonstration of what it should look like

It might be a bit daunting at first, but with enough practice you'll be throwing people left and right before they even have a chance to activate their absorb or push you away.
The first and most vital aspect of this technique is this: The speed is in the pickup, NOT in the turn. If you understand that, you can improve on everything else as you go.
Start your grip throw with your aim at a slight angle to your opponent. Hold down your grip hotkey. At this point your grip should not engage because you should not be aiming at anyone.
Next, swing your mouse smoothly across your target, this is the pickup.
While you continue your turn, do a straight, no force backflip to add momentum, and release grip.
If performed right, you should send them far, far away.
Here is another demonstration, broken down

If you have difficulty with this technique, I am always willing to help you in game, so track me down and ask!
Keep Practicing!
