In every swing there are three parts: the backswing, the hit zone, and the followthrough. They are the most obvious in Red stance of course, but this applie to any style. The Backswing: The backswing is the part of the swing at the moment you hit attack. As an illustration, I will show you a D swing in Red stance. As you can see, the saber is behind the character. The Hit zone: The hit zone is mid-swing in every swing. It is the point at which your saber is intended to hit its target. In red stance, you can know you have entered the hit zone when you hear the sound of your saber most clearly. The Followthrough: The followthrough is the part of the swing where your saber is finishing the attack and making its way back to its default position while no swing is occuring. I will refer to all of these parts of swings in the upcoming lessons. keep practicing! LL
