Assuming you have completed the first lesson and are able to use any of the swings at a moment's notice, it is now time to learn about two swing combos. The swings that you have already learned can be combined together into longer moves called combos, that improve your ability to effectively weild your saber for both offense and defense. To accomplish this combination of swings, it is first necessary to understand which swings can be combined and which can not. As reference, here is the swing compass. Any swing that is next to another on the swing compass (eg. W and WD) can be linked together. However if they are not next to each other on the compass (eg W and D), they can not. This concept applies mainly to Red stance, and will be explained in a little more detail in the next lesson. DRILL: Work your way around the swing compass until you have done every two swing combo, then reverse direction. You will do: W W W WD WD WD WD D D D D SD SD SD AS AS AS A A A A AW AW AW AW A A A A AS AS AS SD SD SD D D D D WD WD WD WD W W W Finished! If you mess up, continue on, but make sure you do it again with no mistakes. Here is a demonstration of a few two swing combos. As you practice these and other two swing combos, keep in mind that a combo is a fluid motion. Hold down attack and your first direction, change directions after you swing, but still hold attack until the completion of the combo. LL
